What are DDA compliant door widths?To ensure you comply with DDA regulations for minimum effective clearance widths according to Approved Document M - Volume 2 you need to meet the following requirements
Direction and width of Approach
- Straight-on - ie. without a turn or oblique approach
- 800mm for New Buildings or 750mm for existing buildings
- At right angles to an access route at least 1500mm wide
- 800mm for New Buildings or 750mm for existing buildings
- At right angles to an access route at least 1200mm wide
- 825mm for New Buildings or 775mm for existing buildings
- At External Doors to buildings used by the general public
- 1000mm for New Buildings or 775mm for existing buildings
